Scholar Athlete: Faouzi Named Academic All-America

Amandine Faouzi, a senior finance major from Paris, France, has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America Women's At-Large team. Faouzi was selected a second team honoree by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Faouzi was the only student-athlete from the Ohio Valley Conference to make this prestigious list of 45 Division I student-athletes. She was also one of just seven tennis players on the list. The native of Mareil Sur Mauldre, France was recently honored as the 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Player of the Year.

The tennis star also excelled in the classroom. The finance major graduated in May with a 4.0 grade-point-average. In 2014, Faouzi was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a national honor society recognizing student-athletes with 60 hours or more, who have a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA. She was named a Colonel Scholar all four years at EKU.
